- Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and oxygen therapy as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patient response to treatments and make necessary adjustments.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
- Comply with all safety and infection control protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with current respiratory therapy techniques and technologies.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards in all job duties.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing best practices.

Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field: Encompass Health Requires All Applicants For A Respiratory Therapist Position To Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Strong Foundation In Respiratory Care Principles And Techniques.
Active State License And Certification: All Candidates Must Possess An Active State License As A Respiratory Therapist And Be Certified By The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc). This Ensures That Candidates Have Met The Minimum Competency Requirements For Practicing As A Respiratory Therapist.
Clinical Experience: Encompass Health Looks For Candidates With At Least 1-2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. This Experience Allows Candidates To Have A Strong Understanding Of Respiratory Care Practices And Procedures, As Well As The Ability To Handle Complex Patient Cases.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Respiratory Therapist, Effective Communication With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential.
