Rehab Therapy Technician

- Provide hands-on care to patients under the direction of licensed therapists.
- Assist with patient exercises and therapy sessions.
- Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes to therapists.
- Set up and maintain therapy equipment and supplies.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during therapy sessions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy area.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Collaborate with therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and provide exceptional care.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in rehabilitation therapy.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Rehab Therapy Technician At Encompass Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Competency In Essential Skills Such As Reading, Writing, And Arithmetic.
Relevant Experience: Encompass Health Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In Rehabilitation Therapy. This May Include Work As A Physical Therapy Aide, Occupational Therapy Aide, Or Other Similar Roles.
Certification Or License: Depending On The State, A Rehab Therapy Technician May Be Required To Hold A Relevant Certification Or License. This May Include A Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or A Medical Assistant (Ma) Certification.
Knowledge Of Rehabilitation Therapies: A Strong Understanding Of Rehabilitation Therapies And Techniques Is Necessary For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, And Speech Therapy Procedures And Equipment.
Physical Stamina: As A Rehab Therapy Technician, The Job May Require Physical Exertion Such As Assisting Patients With Mobility Exercises, Lifting And Transferring Patients, And Setting Up Therapy Equipment. Therefore, Candidates Should Have Good Physical Stamina And Be Able To Perform These Tasks Comfortably.
