- Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to provide support and care to patients undergoing rehabilitation therapy.
- Utilize knowledge and understanding of rehab therapy techniques to assist patients in their recovery journey.
- Collaborate with therapists and other team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the therapy team.
- Assist with transfers, exercises, and other therapy activities as directed by therapists.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation process.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and in working order.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through participation in training and professional development opportunities.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and their families.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Relevant Education And Certification: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, And Many Employers Prefer Candidates With A Certificate Or Associate's Degree In A Related Field Such As Physical Therapy Assisting Or Occupational Therapy Assisting. Additionally, Candidates Must Hold A Valid State License Or Certification, Depending On The State In Which They Will Work.
Experience In A Rehabilitation Setting: Previous Work Experience In A Rehab Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Could Include Experience As An Aide Or Technician In A Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Or Speech Therapy Setting.
Knowledge Of Rehab Techniques And Equipment: A Solid Understanding Of Rehab Techniques And Equipment Is Necessary For This Role. Candidates Should Have Knowledge Of Exercises And Modalities Commonly Used In A Rehab Setting, As Well As Experience With Equipment Such As Therapeutic Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, And Gait Training Devices.
Ability To Assist With Patient Care: Rehab Therapy Technicians Must Be Able To Provide Hands-On Assistance To Patients During Therapy Sessions. This May Include Helping Patients With Exercises, Monitoring Vital Signs, And Assisting With Transfers And Ambulation.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Rehab Therapy Technician, You Will Work Closely With Patients, Therapists, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Rapport With Patients And Collaborating Effectively With The Therapy Team.
