- Assist in providing rehabilitation services to patients under the guidance of licensed therapists.
- Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes to the therapy team.
- Set up and prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and exercises as directed by therapists.
- Assist with patient education and home exercise programs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and progress.
- Handle equipment and supplies in a responsible and efficient manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the therapy team or facility management.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Most Employers Require A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged For A Rehab Therapy Tech Position.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Rehabilitation Center, Is Often Preferred For This Role.
Basic Knowledge Of Anatomy And Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Anatomy And Medical Terminology Is Necessary To Effectively Communicate With Therapists And Assist With Patient Care.
Cpr Certification: Many Employers Require A Current Cpr Certification For All Employees Working In A Healthcare Environment.
Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift/Move Patients: The Job Of A Rehab Therapy Tech May Involve Physically Demanding Tasks, Such As Assisting Patients With Transfers And Exercises, So Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Able To Lift/Move Patients As Needed.
