- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate department or individual.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring it is presentable at all times.
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate records of patient appointments and cancellations.
- Collect and verify patient information, such as insurance details and medical history.
- Communicate with patients regarding their appointments, including any necessary pre-visit instructions.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of information and communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations while handling patient information.
- Maintain knowledge of company services, policies, and procedures to effectively assist patients and visitors.
- Continuously strive to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management team.
Excellent Communication Skills: A Successful Receptionist At Encompass Health Must Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Visitors, And Staff.
Strong Organizational Skills: As A Receptionist, You Will Be Responsible For Managing A High Volume Of Phone Calls, Scheduling Appointments, And Maintaining Records. Therefore, Strong Organizational Skills Are Essential For This Role.
Customer Service Orientation: Encompass Health Prides Itself On Providing Exceptional Care And Service To Patients And Their Families. A Receptionist Must Have A Customer Service Mindset And Be Able To Handle Inquiries And Complaints In A Professional And Empathetic Manner.
Familiarity With Medical Terminology: Encompass Health Is A Healthcare Organization, And A Receptionist Must Have A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology To Effectively Communicate With Doctors, Nurses, And Other Medical Staff.
Proficient In Computer Skills: In Today's Digital Age, A Receptionist Must Be Comfortable Using Computers And Have A Basic Understanding Of Various Software Programs. Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems Is Also A Plus.
