- Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner.
- Maintain strict adherence to established protocols and procedures for specimen collection and processing.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of samples by carefully labeling, storing, and transporting them.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless and positive patient experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly dispose of biohazardous materials.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Keep accurate records of collected specimens and update patient information as needed.
- Participate in continuous education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Uphold the values and standards of Encompass Health by providing exceptional patient care and service.
Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program Or Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Standard Blood Collection Procedures, Including Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Handling And Processing.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Laboratory Staff In A Professional And Compassionate Manner.
Basic Computer Skills And Proficiency In Electronic Health Record Systems For Accurate And Timely Documentation Of Blood Collection And Patient Information.
