- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications to patients according to established protocols and procedures.

- Monitor inventory levels and assist with medication ordering and restocking.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to obtain necessary information for medication processing.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols in handling and storing medications.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Educate patients on proper medication use, storage, and potential side effects.
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of the pharmacy, including cleaning and restocking of supplies.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education opportunities.
- Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy practices.
- Help identify and report any medication errors or discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new processes and procedures.
- Provide support to the pharmacy team as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
Completion Of A Pharmacy Technician Training Program: The Ideal Candidate For A Pharmacy Technician Job At Encompass Health Should Have Completed A Formal Training Program From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Solid Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations, Medication Management, And Patient Care.
Active Pharmacy Technician Certification: Encompass Health Requires All Pharmacy Technicians To Hold An Active Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Competency In The Field.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Pharmacy Or Healthcare Setting Is Highly Preferred.
