Pharmacy Technician

- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medication to patients accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to all established protocols and procedures for medication storage, handling, and dispensing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication profiles and allergies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to provide medication education and answer any questions or concerns.
- Monitor medication inventory and place orders as needed to ensure an adequate supply is maintained.
- Prepare and package medication orders for delivery to patients.
- Use computer systems to enter and retrieve prescription information and process medication orders.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Participate in continuous training and education to stay current on new medications and pharmaceutical processes.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations regarding medication dispensing and patient confidentiality.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervising pharmacist.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Pharmacy Technician At Encompass Health Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Educational Qualification.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht): A Valid And Current Cpht Certification From A Recognized Institution Is Preferred For This Role. This Certification Ensures That The Applicant Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Their Duties Effectively.
Knowledge Of Pharmacy Software: Proficiency In Using Pharmacy Software Systems Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Various Pharmacy Software Programs, Such As Rx30 Or Qs1, To Accurately Process And Record Medication Orders.
Excellent Attention To Detail: A Pharmacy Technician At Encompass Health Should Possess Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That Medication Orders Are Accurately Filled, Labeled, And Dispensed. This Role Requires The Ability To Identify Potential Errors And Take Corrective Action To Prevent Medication Errors.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial For A Pharmacy Technician To Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Role Requires The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Effectively, Both Verbally And In Writing, To Provide Exceptional Customer Service.
