- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients.
- Manage and maintain inventory levels of medications, ensuring adequate supply and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate and timely medication therapy for patients.
- Monitor and analyze pharmacy data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Hire, train, and supervise pharmacy staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to pharmacy staff.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in pharmaceutical care and recommend changes to improve patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of medications.
- Oversee the compounding and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement interdisciplinary programs to improve patient care.
- Participate in budget planning and management for the pharmacy department.
- Provide education and training to healthcare professionals on medication therapy and safety.
- Serve as a resource for patients and their families regarding medication information and counseling.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and collaboration within the pharmacy department and across the organization.
Bachelor's Or Doctorate Degree In Pharmacy: A Pharmacy Director At Encompass Health Must Possess At Least A Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy, And Preferably A Doctorate Degree, From An Accredited Institution.
Active Pharmacy License: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Must Hold An Active And Unrestricted Pharmacy License In The State They Will Be Working In. This Is Necessary To Ensure Compliance With State And Federal Laws Governing The Practice Of Pharmacy.
Extensive Pharmacy Experience: Candidates For The Pharmacy Director Position Must Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Pharmacy Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Pharmacy Director, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Pharmacists And Pharmacy Technicians. Therefore, They Must Possess Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Lead And Develop Their Team.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Compliance: The Pharmacy Industry Is Heavily Regulated, And A Successful Candidate For This Role Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Relevant Laws And Regulations Governing The Practice Of Pharmacy.
