  1. Dispensing and overseeing the distribution of medications to patients in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to develop and implement treatment plans that include appropriate medication therapies.
  3. Monitoring patients' medication usage and adjusting dosages as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Conducting medication reviews and reconciliations to identify any potential interactions or adverse effects.
  5. Educating patients and their families on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and other important information.
  6. Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including medication profiles and drug interactions.
  7. Ensuring compliance with all pharmacy policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  8. Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and patient outcomes.
  9. Keeping up-to-date on new medications, dosage forms, and treatment guidelines to provide the best care possible.
  10. Providing guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other healthcare professionals.
  11. Handling and resolving any medication-related issues or concerns from patients or other healthcare team members.
  12. Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and review patient treatment plans.
  13. Maintaining inventory and ordering medications and supplies as needed.
  14. Assisting in the development and implementation of medication-related policies and protocols.
  15. Adhering to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy From An Accredited Institution Is Required For This Position. A Higher Degree Such As A Master's Or Doctorate In Pharmacy May Be Preferred.

  • State Licensure: Candidates Must Possess A Current And Valid State License To Practice Pharmacy In The State Where The Encompass Health Facility Is Located. This License Must Be In Good Standing With No Disciplinary Actions.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmaceuticals And Drug Interactions: A Strong Understanding Of Pharmaceuticals, Drug Interactions, And Drug Therapy Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Must Be Able To Accurately And Safely Dispense Medication And Provide Guidance On Drug Therapy To Patients And Healthcare Providers.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Pharmacist, Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team. Candidates Should Be Able To Effectively Convey Complex Medical Information To Non-Medical Personnel And Handle Difficult Situations With Professionalism.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Pharmacists Are Responsible For Dispensing Medication And Ensuring The Correct Dosage And Instructions Are Provided To Patients. Therefore, Attention To Detail And Accuracy Are Essential Qualifications For This Role. Candidates Must Be Able To Maintain A High Level Of Accuracy While Multitasking In A Fast-Paced Environment.
