Job Description

As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in the daily care and well-being of our patients, working alongside our dedicated healthcare professionals.   1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  3. Monitor and report any changes in patients' physical, emotional, and mental conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  4. Administer medication and treatments as directed by the healthcare team.
  5. Document patient observations, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, following infection control and safety protocols.
  8. Respond to patient and family inquiries and concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
  9. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
  10. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.
  12. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  13. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  14. Maintain a professional appearance and behavior in accordance with hospital standards.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the healthcare team.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Technician Must Have A Basic Education To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Understand Medical Terminology.

  • Cpr Certification: Encompass Health Requires All Patient Care Technicians To Have A Current Cpr Certification To Ensure They Are Equipped To Handle Emergency Situations.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: A Cna Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Completed A State-Approved Training Program And Has The Necessary Skills To Provide Basic Patient Care.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Required, Previous Experience As A Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Or In A Similar Role Can Be Beneficial In Understanding The Duties And Responsibilities Of The Job.

  • Physical Ability: Patient Care Technicians Must Be Able To Lift And Move Patients, Stand For Long Periods Of Time, And Perform Physically Demanding Tasks. Therefore, Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Able To Meet The Job's Physical Demands.
