- Assist occupational therapists in providing rehabilitative care to patients by implementing treatment plans and monitoring progress.
- Help patients regain daily living skills and improve their overall quality of life.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient.
- Document patient progress and communicate with therapists and other team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Encourage and motivate patients to actively participate in therapy sessions and adhere to treatment plans.

- Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Continuously update and expand knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and treatments.

- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of care to patients.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatment and progress.

Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy Assistant Program: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess At Least An Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution. This Will Ensure That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In The Principles And Techniques Of Occupational Therapy.
State Licensure: Encompass Health Requires All Occupational Therapy Assistants To Be Licensed In The State Where They Will Be Practicing. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met All The Necessary Requirements And Has Passed The Required Exams To Practice As An Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Rehabilitation Or Long-Term Care Facility, Will Have An Advantage. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Familiarity With The Daily Tasks And Responsibilities Of An Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Occupational Therapy Assistants Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills To Build Rapport With Patients And Their Families, And Work Collaboratively With The Therapy Team.
Knowledge Of Relevant Therapy Techniques And Equipment: A Successful Candidate Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Various Occupational Therapy Techniques And Equipment. This Includes Knowledge Of Adaptive Equipment And Assistive Technology That May Be Used To Help Patients With Their Daily Activities And Improve Their Quality Of Life.
