Job Description

We are currently seeking a Nutrition Services Aide to join our team and assist in providing optimal nutrition for our patients. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our patients receive the proper nourishment they need to aid in their recovery. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual with a strong understanding of nutrition and the ability to work collaboratively with our healthcare team.   1. Assist in providing optimal nutrition for patients by following prescribed menus, portion sizes, and dietary restrictions.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of meals to patients, taking into consideration any special requests or dietary needs.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including stocking and cleaning of kitchen and dining areas.
  4. Monitor and record patient food and fluid intake to ensure they are meeting their prescribed nutrition requirements.
  5. Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient meal plans and address any concerns or issues related to dietary needs.
  6. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a safe environment for patients.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions related to dietary services.
  8. Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on nutrition standards and procedures.
  9. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of food and supplies, and communicate any needs to the appropriate department.
  10. Uphold the mission and values of Encompass Health by demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For Nutrition Services Aides At Encompass Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Are Able To Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Previous Experience In Food Service Or Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Experience In Food Service Or Healthcare Settings Have A Better Understanding Of Safety And Sanitation Protocols, As Well As Knowledge Of Special Dietary Needs And Restrictions. This Experience Can Help Them Excel In Their Role As A Nutrition Services Aide.

  • Basic Knowledge Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines: A Basic Understanding Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines Is Important For Nutrition Services Aides To Effectively Assist Patients With Their Meal Plans. This Knowledge Can Also Help Them Answer Questions And Provide Advice To Patients And Their Families.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Nutrition Services Aides Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effectively Communicating With Others And Providing Quality Customer Service.

  • Physical Ability To Perform Job Duties: This Position May Require Lifting, Pushing, And Pulling Heavy Objects, As Well As Standing For Long Periods Of Time. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks In Order To Meet The Demands Of The Job.
