- Coordinate and oversee the meal ordering and preparation process for patients, including verifying dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure their dietary needs are met and any concerns are addressed.
- Maintain accurate records of patient meal orders, allergies, and other dietary information.
- Assist with menu planning and development, taking into consideration nutritional needs and dietary restrictions.
- Monitor food inventory and place orders as needed to ensure an adequate supply of necessary items.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic food service environment.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and dining staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of meals to patients.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any patient or family concerns regarding meals and dietary needs.
- Educate patients and their families on healthy eating habits and the importance of proper nutrition for recovery.
- Stay updated on current nutrition and dietary guidelines and make recommendations for improvements to the menu and meal options.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required to stay informed on policies and procedures related to nutrition services.
- Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families, promoting a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support the overall functioning of the nutrition services department.
Knowledge Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines: A Nutrition Service Clerk At Encompass Health Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines To Accurately Assist Patients With Their Meal Plans And Dietary Restrictions.
Experience In Food Service Industry: Candidates With Prior Experience In A Food Service Environment, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility, Will Be Preferred For This Role. This Experience Will Ensure They Have A Basic Understanding Of Food Safety And Sanitation Practices.
Excellent Organizational Skills: The Nutrition Service Clerk Will Be Responsible For Organizing And Managing Patient Meal Orders, Dietary Preferences, And Food Inventory. Therefore, Strong Organizational Skills Are Essential For This Role.
