- Prepare and serve meals and snacks to patients according to their specific dietary needs and restrictions.
- Monitor patient food intake and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
- Ensure that all meals and snacks are prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized meal plans for patients.

- Assist with ordering and stocking of food and kitchen supplies as needed.

- Stay up-to-date on current nutrition trends and guidelines to ensure the provision of high-quality nutrition services.
- Participate in training and staff development programs to maintain and improve knowledge and skills.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the overall well-being of patients.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Nutrition Service Aide Position At Encompass Health Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Perform Tasks That Require Basic Math And Reading Skills.
Previous Experience In A Food Service Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Food Service Setting, Such As A Restaurant Or Cafeteria, Will Have A Better Understanding Of Food Safety And Sanitation Protocols. This Experience Also Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
Knowledge Of Nutrition And Special Diets: A Nutrition Service Aide At Encompass Health May Be Responsible For Preparing Meals For Patients With Specific Dietary Needs, Such As Those On A Low-Sodium Or Diabetic Diet. Therefore, Candidates With A Basic Understanding Of Nutrition And Special Diets Will Be Better Equipped To Fulfill These Responsibilities.
Customer Service Skills: A Nutrition Service Aide Will Interact With Patients, Visitors, And Other Staff Members On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Be Friendly And Courteous, And Be Able To Handle Difficult Situations Professionally.
