1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of nursing staff schedules, shifts, and time-off requests.
2. Collaborate with department managers to determine staffing needs and develop a comprehensive staffing plan.
3. Utilize scheduling software or systems to create and maintain staff schedules.
4. Monitor and adjust staffing levels based on patient census and acuity to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
5. Communicate any changes or updates to the nursing staff schedule in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and management to address any scheduling concerns or conflicts.
7. Coordinate and schedule new employee orientation and training sessions for nursing staff.
8. Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures related to staffing and scheduling.
9. Monitor and track staff attendance, including tardiness and absences, and report any issues to management.
10. Assist with payroll processing by accurately documenting and recording staff hours worked.
11. Collaborate with human resources to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to meet company and regulatory standards.
12. Continuously evaluate and improve staffing processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
13. Maintain confidentiality of all employee information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
14. Act as a resource for nursing staff, providing support and assistance as needed.
15. Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay informed on company policies and procedures.
