  1. Coordinate and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of nursing staff schedules and availability.
  2. Collaborate with nursing department to determine staffing needs based on patient acuity and census.
  3. Communicate with nursing staff to ensure availability and coverage for shifts.
  4. Monitor and adjust staffing levels as needed to ensure adequate coverage for patient care.
  5. Coordinate with HR to ensure proper onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff.
  6. Maintain compliance with staffing policies and procedures.
  7. Ensure timely and accurate submission of staffing reports to management.
  8. Monitor and report on staff attendance and time off requests.
  9. Act as a liaison between nursing staff and management to address any staffing concerns or issues.
  10. Participate in meetings and discussions regarding staffing and patient care.
  11. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve staffing efficiency and effectiveness.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to nursing staffing.
  13. Provide support to nursing staff and management as needed.
  14. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  15. Uphold company values and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Nursing Staffing Coordinator At Encompass Health Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Nursing Or A Related Field To Ensure A Thorough Understanding Of Healthcare Principles And Practices.

  • Previous Experience In Staffing Or Scheduling: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In Staffing Or Scheduling, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Manage And Coordinate Nursing Staff Effectively.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Policies: A Nursing Staffing Coordinator Should Be Well-Versed In Healthcare Regulations And Policies, Such As Those Set By The Joint Commission, Medicare, And Medicaid, To Ensure Compliance And Quality Care.

  • Strong Communication And Organizational Skills: Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills Are Essential For A Nursing Staffing Coordinator, As They Will Be Responsible For Communicating And Coordinating With Multiple Departments And Managing Schedules For A Large Staff.

  • Ability To Work Under Pressure And Handle Multiple Tasks: The Healthcare Industry Can Be Fast-Paced And Unpredictable, So A Nursing Staffing Coordinator Must Be Able To Handle Pressure And Prioritize Tasks Effectively To Ensure The Smooth Operation Of Staffing And Scheduling Processes.
