
Nursing Staffing Coordinator

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the nursing staff needs across all departments and shifts.
- Collaborate with nursing managers and department heads to create and implement effective staffing plans.
- Monitor and adjust staffing levels based on patient acuity, census, and staffing guidelines.
- Communicate regularly with nursing staff to ensure adequate coverage and address any scheduling conflicts or concerns.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure timely onboarding of new nursing staff and proper documentation of credentials and certifications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of staff schedules, time off requests, and any changes to staffing plans.
- Utilize scheduling software to create and distribute weekly and monthly schedules to nursing staff.
- Monitor and address any staffing gaps or shortages and work with management to find solutions.
- Collaborate with the education department to ensure proper training and orientation for new nursing staff.
- Participate in regular meetings with management to discuss staffing needs and provide updates on staffing levels and concerns.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulations related to nursing staffing and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Provide support and guidance to nursing staff regarding scheduling, time off requests, and any other staffing-related inquiries.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment for nursing staff, promoting teamwork and open communication.
- Continuously evaluate and improve staffing processes and procedures to increase efficiency and meet the changing needs of the organization.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Nursing Staffing Coordinator At Encompass Health Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Clinical Skills, And Healthcare Management Principles.
Previous Experience In Healthcare Staffing: Candidates For This Role Should Have Previous Experience In Healthcare Staffing, Preferably In A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Setting. This Experience Will Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Staffing Processes, Scheduling Systems, And Healthcare Regulations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Nursing Staffing Coordinator, Effective Communication With Nurses, Patients, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial.
