- Provide direct care to patients: The main responsibility of a Nursing Assistant at Encompass Health is to provide direct care to patients, including assisting with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Support patients' emotional well-being: Nursing Assistants are responsible for providing emotional support and companionship to patients, helping them feel comfortable and cared for during their stay at Encompass Health.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment: It is the responsibility of Nursing Assistants to ensure that the patient's room and common areas are clean and safe at all times. This includes changing linens, restocking supplies, and reporting any safety hazards.
- Document patient care: Nursing Assistants are responsible for accurately documenting patient care, including vital signs, food and fluid intake, and any changes in the patient's condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Nursing Assistants work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients. This includes reporting any changes in the patient's condition and communicating any concerns to the healthcare team.
- Follow infection control protocols: It is the responsibility of Nursing Assistants to follow all infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment, to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Assist with patient activities: Nursing Assistants may be responsible for assisting with patient activities, such as exercise programs and recreational activities, to promote physical and emotional well-being.
- Adhere to Encompass Health policies and procedures: Nursing Assistants must adhere to all Encompass Health policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient rights, to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
- Attend training and education sessions: Nursing Assistants are responsible for attending training and education sessions to maintain and improve their skills and knowledge in patient care.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude: Nursing Assistants must maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, providing compassionate and respectful care to patients and their families.
High School Diploma Or Ged: A Nursing Assistant At Encompass Health Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Equivalent To Demonstrate A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Candidates Should Possess A Current Cna Certification To Show They Have Completed A State-Approved Training Program And Have The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: An Active Bls Certification Is Required To Show The Candidate Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Can Respond To Emergency Situations.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility, Is Preferred. This Shows The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Healthcare Practices And Protocols.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Nursing Assistant, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effectively Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Team Members. Candidates Should Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Compassionately In Both Written And Verbal Forms.
