Job Description

  1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments of infection control practices and protocols to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Provide ongoing education and training to staff on infection prevention best practices.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control strategies.
  5. Monitor and analyze infection data to identify trends and implement interventions to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
  6. Conduct thorough investigations into any reported infections and implement appropriate measures to prevent further spread.
  7. Stay up-to-date on emerging infection control trends and guidelines to ensure the facility is following the latest best practices.
  8. Collaborate with the environmental services team to ensure proper cleaning and disinfection protocols are being followed.
  9. Communicate and report infection control data to internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Serve as a resource and consultant for staff on infection control practices and protocols.
  11. Participate in infection control committees and meetings to provide insight and recommendations.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to infection control activities.
  13. Foster a culture of infection prevention and safety throughout the facility.
  14. Stay informed about any potential outbreaks or infectious diseases and implement appropriate measures to prevent their spread.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve infection control processes and procedures to ensure the highest level of safety for patients, visitors, and staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Healthcare Field, With A Specialization In Infection Control Or Epidemiology.

  • Certification In Infection Control, Such As The Certified In Infection Control (Cic) Credential.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Relevant Regulations And Guidelines, Such As Those From The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (Cdc) And The Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha).

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Staff On Infection Control Practices And Protocols.
