HIMS Supervisor

1. Oversee the daily operations of the HIMS department, including managing staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
2. Maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective management of patient records.
4. Train and educate staff on proper record-keeping procedures and HIPAA regulations.
5. Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely access to patient records.
7. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and changes in regulations related to health information management.
8. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
9. Manage electronic health record systems and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
10. Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve any issues related to patient records.
11. Prepare and present reports on the department's performance and make recommendations for improvement.
12. Ensure the security and confidentiality of all patient records, both physical and electronic.
13. Participate in hiring and onboarding processes for new HIMS staff.
14. Foster a positive and professional work environment within the HIMS department.
15. Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and implement process improvements.
