
Hemodialysis Registered Nurse

- Administer hemodialysis treatments to patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, lab values, and overall physical and mental health during treatment.
- Assess, document, and report any changes in patients' conditions to the physician and healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on the hemodialysis process, potential complications, and self-care at home.
- Administer medication and other prescribed treatments as directed by the physician.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, including treatment records and progress notes.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of dialysis supplies and equipment, ensuring they are properly stocked and in working condition.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families during dialysis treatments.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in hemodialysis care.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and facilitate the transition of patients to other levels of care, if necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help identify areas for improvement in hemodialysis care.
Active Rn License: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid And Active Registered Nurse License In The State Where Encompass Health Facility Is Located.
Hemodialysis Experience: Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Hemodialysis Nursing Is Required. This Includes Experience With Dialysis Equipment, Patient Assessment, And Administering Medications.
Bls Certification: The Candidate Must Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls) From The American Heart Association Or The American Red Cross.
Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills: Hemodialysis Registered Nurses Must Be Able To Think Critically And Make Quick Decisions During Emergencies. They Must Also Possess Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Identify And Address Any Issues That May Arise During Dialysis Treatments.
Team Player: Working In A Dialysis Unit Requires Collaboration With Other Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Technicians, And Other Nurses. The Candidate Must Be A Team Player, Able To Communicate Effectively And Work Well With Others To Provide The Best Possible Care For Patients.
