- Oversee and lead a team of environmental services aides to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Implement and maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control protocols within the facility.
- Train and mentor new environmental services aides on proper cleaning and disinfection techniques.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas of the facility are meeting cleanliness standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering new supplies as needed.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure all areas of the facility are regularly and thoroughly cleaned.
- Collaborate with other departments to address any environmental concerns or issues.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and guidelines related to environmental services, including OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding any issues or concerns related to environmental services.
- Continuously seek ways to improve and streamline environmental services operations to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to environmental services aides.
- Stay informed about new cleaning techniques and products and make recommendations for improvement as necessary.
- Act as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and customer service within the environmental services department.
- Represent Encompass Health in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Relevant Education And Experience: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required For This Position, But Candidates With An Associate's Or Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Services, Hospitality, Or A Related Field Will Be Preferred. Additionally, At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Supervisory Role In A Healthcare Or Hospitality Setting Is Required.
Knowledge Of Environmental Services Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Environmental Services Practices, Including Infection Control, Sanitation, And Waste Management. Familiarity With Osha And Other Regulatory Guidelines Related To Environmental Services Is Also Necessary.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Senior Environmental Services Aide, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Aides And Coordinating With Other Departments. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential To Effectively Manage And Motivate The Team.
Attention To Detail And Time Management Abilities: Environmental Services Aides, Senior Are Responsible For Ensuring That The Facility Is Clean And Well-Maintained At All Times. This Requires Excellent Attention To Detail And The Ability To Prioritize Tasks And Manage Time Efficiently To Meet Deadlines.
Physical Stamina And Flexibility: This Position Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Perform Tasks That May Involve Heavy Lifting, Pushing, And Pulling.
