- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.
- Monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
- Create and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with department heads and staff to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Train and educate staff on quality and risk management protocols and procedures.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding quality and risk management matters.
- Conduct audits and reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of quality and risk management programs.
- Investigate incidents and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Prepare reports and presentations on quality and risk management performance for senior leadership.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to quality and risk management.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of care.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement facility-wide quality improvement plans.
- Foster a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.
- Represent the facility in quality and risk management-related meetings and committees.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to support quality and risk management efforts.
- Respond to and address any quality or risk-related concerns or complaints from patients or their families.
- Evaluate and approve new policies and procedures related to quality and risk management.
- Actively promote and maintain a positive and collaborative working environment within the organization.
Extensive Experience In Healthcare Quality Management: The Director Of Quality And Risk Should Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within A Healthcare Organization, With A Strong Focus On Quality Improvement And Risk Management.
Knowledge Of Regulatory And Accreditation Requirements: This Role Requires A Thorough Understanding Of All Relevant Regulatory And Accreditation Standards, Including But Not Limited To Cms, Joint Commission, And State-Specific Requirements.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Director Of Quality And Risk Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And The Ability To Analyze Complex Data To Identify Trends And Areas For Improvement. They Should Also Possess Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Develop Effective Solutions.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Leader In Quality And Risk Management, The Director Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With All Levels Of Staff, From Front-Line Employees To Senior Management. They Should Be Able To Build Relationships And Collaborate With Various Departments To Drive Quality Improvement Initiatives.
Quality Management Certification: A Certification In Quality Management, Such As Certified Professional In Healthcare Quality (Cphq) Or Certified Professional In Healthcare Risk Management (Cphrm), Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Quality And Risk Management Principles And Practices.
