  1. Develop and teach engaging and interactive lessons to high school students in the ETS program.
  2. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students of varying backgrounds and abilities.
  3. Collaborate with other instructors and program staff to develop and implement a cohesive curriculum.
  4. Utilize innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  5. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them reach their academic goals.
  6. Serve as a role model and mentor to students, promoting a positive attitude towards science and education.
  7. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  8. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and program staff to ensure a successful learning experience.
  9. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Experience: The Ideal Candidate For The Summer Science Academy Instructor Position At Emory University Should Have A Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Science, Technology, Engineering, Or Mathematics. Additionally, They Should Have Experience Working With Students In A Teaching Or Mentoring Capacity.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Instructor, The Individual Must Have Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, To Effectively Convey Complex Scientific Concepts To Students. They Should Also Be Able To Build Strong Relationships With Students And Be Approachable And Friendly.

  • Knowledge Of Curriculum Development And Instructional Design: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Curriculum Development And Instructional Design Principles To Create Engaging And Effective Lesson Plans For Students Of Varying Ages And Backgrounds.

  • Ability To Create A Safe And Inclusive Learning Environment: The Summer Science Academy Values Diversity And Inclusivity, And The Instructor Should Be Able To Create A Safe And Welcoming Learning Environment For All Students. They Should Also Be Able To Effectively Manage And Resolve Conflicts That May Arise.

  • Organizational And Time Management Skills: The Instructor Must Be Able To Manage A Diverse Workload, Including Planning And Delivering Lessons, Grading Assignments, And Providing Feedback To Students. They Should Also Be Able To Meet Deadlines And Effectively Manage Their Time To Ensure The Smooth Operation Of The Program.
