- Coordinate all aspects of the residency program, including recruitment, orientation, evaluations, and graduation ceremonies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, residents, and external partners to ensure smooth operation of the program.
- Serve as a point of contact for all inquiries and requests related to the residency program.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress, evaluations, and schedules.
- Assist with the development and implementation of educational curriculum and rotations for residents.
- Coordinate and schedule lectures, workshops, and other educational activities for residents.
- Collaborate with other departments and institutions to organize joint educational activities and resources.
- Manage the residency budget, including tracking expenses and preparing financial reports.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all accreditation and regulatory requirements for the residency program.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the residency program, seeking feedback from residents and faculty to identify areas for growth and enhancement.
- Plan and coordinate recruitment events and activities to attract top talent for the residency program.
- Participate in residency program committees and meetings, providing support and input as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Stay current with industry trends and developments in the field of ophthalmology to inform and enhance the residency program.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for residents, providing guidance and support as they navigate their training and career paths.
- Help cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment for residents, promoting diversity and cultural competency.
- Represent the residency program and the department at conferences, meetings, and other professional events.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the department and the university.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Healthcare Administration, Business, Or Education.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Residency Program Coordination, Preferably In A Medical Or Academic Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of The Accreditation Requirements And Guidelines For Residency Programs In Ophthalmology.
Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize Effectively.
Proficient In Using Computer Software And Systems Such As Microsoft Office, Residency Management Software, And Online Learning Platforms.
