  1. Conducting research: Conducting independent research under the guidance of the department's faculty, including designing experiments, performing data analysis, and interpreting results.
  2. Assisting with research projects: Supporting ongoing research projects by providing technical expertise, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  3. Maintaining laboratory equipment: Ensuring proper maintenance and functionality of laboratory equipment and ordering necessary supplies.
  4. Data management: Organizing, managing, and analyzing data collected from experiments using various software and tools.
  5. Collaborating with team members: Collaborating with other team members to share knowledge, troubleshoot issues, and support each other's research projects.
  6. Staying updated on research trends: Keeping up-to-date with the latest research trends and techniques in the field of medicine, and incorporating them into the department's research projects.
  7. Ensuring compliance: Adhering to all safety and ethical guidelines while conducting research and ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory policies.
  8. Writing research reports: Preparing and presenting research reports, summaries, and publications to the department's faculty and at conferences.
  9. Training and mentoring: Training and mentoring new research assistants and students, and providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.
  10. Contributing to grant applications: Assisting with the preparation of grant applications and proposals to secure funding for research projects.
  11. Representing the department: Representing the department at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote the research work and achievements.
  12. Upholding the university's values: Representing and upholding the values of Emory University and the School of Medicine in all professional interactions and activities.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Biomedical Science: A Research Specialist At Emory University's School Of Medicine, Pathology Must Possess An Advanced Degree In Biomedical Science Such As A Phd Or Md. This Ensures A Strong Foundation In The Principles Of Pathology And Research Methodology.

  • Previous Research Experience: Ideal Candidates Will Have Previous Research Experience In The Field Of Pathology, Preferably In An Academic Setting. This Includes Experience Designing And Conducting Experiments, Analyzing Data, And Presenting Findings.
