Emory University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Research Administrator, Pre-Award Manager for the School of Medicine's Specialty & Hospital Research Administration Services.As the Pre-Award Manager, you will play a crucial role in the success of our research programs by overseeing the pre-award process for grants and contracts within the School of Medicine. This includes working closely with faculty and staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of proposals, managing budgets and compliance requirements, and providing guidance on funding opportunities and application requirements.Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in research administration, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.   1. Oversee the pre-award process for grants and contracts within the School of Medicine, ensuring timely and accurate submission of proposals.
  2. Manage budgets and compliance requirements for research projects.
  3. Provide guidance on funding opportunities and application requirements to faculty and staff.
  4. Work closely with researchers to develop project budgets and ensure alignment with funding guidelines.
  5. Monitor and track grant application deadlines and ensure all necessary materials are submitted on time.
  6. Review and edit grant proposals to ensure compliance with funding agency guidelines and university policies.
  7. Serve as the primary point of contact for funding agencies and provide necessary documentation and information as requested.
  8. Maintain accurate and organized records of all grant applications and awards.
  9. Stay updated on changes and updates in funding guidelines and regulations.
  10. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to facilitate the successful execution of research projects.
  11. Provide training and support to faculty and staff on grant application procedures and policies.
  12. Monitor and track funding opportunities and communicate relevant information to faculty and staff.
  13. Ensure compliance with all university and funding agency policies and regulations.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to grant applications and awards.
  15. Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to improve the efficiency of the pre-award process.
  16. Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in research administration.
  17. Assist with post-award administration as needed.
  18. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Research Administration, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Academic Setting.

  • Familiarity With Federal And Private Funding Agencies, Regulations, And Compliance Requirements.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, Including The Ability To Manage Multiple Deadlines And Priorities.
