  1. Assist in the coordination and implementation of various programs at The Carter Center, including but not limited to peacebuilding, health, and human rights initiatives.
  2. Support the program team in planning and organizing events, workshops, and trainings.
  3. Conduct research and gather information relevant to program activities.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program activities, including budget and expenses.
  5. Communicate with program partners and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and timely delivery of program objectives.
  6. Assist in the preparation of program reports, presentations, and other materials.
  7. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for program improvement and growth.
  8. Ensure compliance with program guidelines and regulations.
  9. Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure effective and efficient program implementation.
  10. Stay informed about current events and developments in the areas of focus for The Carter Center, and provide updates to the program team as needed.
  11. Demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice and The Carter Center's mission.
  12. Support any other tasks or duties assigned by the program manager or senior staff members.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience Working In A Non-Profit Organization Or Ngo: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Non-Profit Organization Or Ngo, Preferably In A Program Assistant Role. This Will Ensure They Are Familiar With The Unique Challenges And Requirements Of Working In This Field.

  • Knowledge Of Program Management And Evaluation: A Strong Understanding Of Program Management And Evaluation Is Essential For A Program Assistant. This Includes Skills Such As Project Planning, Data Collection And Analysis, And Reporting.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Program Assistant, The Candidate Will Be Working With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders, Including Donors, Volunteers, And Community Members. Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Critical For Effectively Conveying Information And Building Relationships.

  • Proficiency In Ets Software: The Carter Center Uses Ets Software For Data Management And Analysis, So Proficiency In This Software Is A Must. Candidates Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Proficiency Through Previous Experience Or Training.

  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field: While Not Always Required, A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As International Development, Public Health, Or Social Work Is Highly Preferred For This Role. This Will Ensure The Candidate Has A Solid Foundation Of Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Support Program Activities.
