Job Description

Emory University is seeking a dedicated and skilled Plant Operator II to join our Campus Services team. As a Plant Operator II, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our campus facilities.   1. Operate and maintain various plant systems and equipment including but not limited to boilers, chillers, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  2. Monitor and adjust plant systems to ensure efficient and safe operation, including performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Maintain accurate records and logs of plant operations, including recording data such as fuel usage, water levels, and equipment readings.
  5. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the Campus Services team to coordinate maintenance and repairs and ensure uninterrupted operation of campus facilities.
  7. Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices to continuously improve plant operations and efficiency.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to all campus stakeholders, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  9. Participate in training and development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in plant operations.
  10. Adhere to all university policies and procedures, including those related to sustainability and environmental preservation.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Operating And Maintaining Large-Scale Mechanical Equipment, Preferably In A University Or Large Campus Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Regulations Related To Operating And Maintaining Mechanical Equipment, Including Proper Handling Of Hazardous Materials.

  • Proficient In Reading And Interpreting Technical Manuals And Diagrams, As Well As Using Computer Software To Track And Maintain Equipment Records.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills And Ability To Troubleshoot Equipment Malfunctions And Recommend Solutions.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
