- Develop and implement a comprehensive outdoor recreation program that aligns with the mission and values of Emory University.
- Plan and coordinate a variety of outdoor activities, including hikes, camping trips, rock climbing, and other outdoor adventures.
- Collaborate with other campus departments and student organizations to promote and support outdoor recreation initiatives.
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of student leaders to assist with planning and executing outdoor activities.
- Manage the budget for the outdoor recreation program and ensure that all expenses are within budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain and manage equipment needed for outdoor activities, including purchasing and maintenance.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to proper safety protocols and procedures.
- Foster a sense of community among students by promoting team-building and group bonding activities during outdoor recreation events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local outdoor recreation vendors and organizations to provide students with diverse and exciting opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in outdoor recreation to continuously improve the program.
- Communicate regularly with students, faculty, and staff to promote upcoming outdoor recreation events and opportunities.
- Collaborate with campus partners to organize special events and programs that promote healthy and active lifestyles.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to evaluate the success of the program and make necessary improvements.
- Serve as a role model for students by promoting responsible and sustainable outdoor practices.
- Uphold and promote the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the outdoor recreation program.
Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Outdoor Education, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Planning And Coordinating Outdoor Recreation Programs And Activities.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Engage And Supervise A Team Of Student Staff And Volunteers.
Knowledge And Experience With Outdoor Equipment And Safety Protocols, Including Proper Use And Maintenance.
Ability To Develop And Manage Program Budgets, As Well As Collaborate With Other Departments And Organizations To Secure Funding And Resources For Outdoor Recreation Initiatives.
