  1. Develop and implement sourcing strategies for scientific materials and equipment to support Emory University's research initiatives.
  2. Lead the procurement process from identifying needs, sourcing potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
  3. Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost savings opportunities and stay up-to-date on industry trends.
  4. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including researchers, faculty, and department heads, to understand their specific needs and requirements.
  5. Manage and maintain relationships with existing and potential suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
  6. Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  7. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of approved suppliers, products, and pricing to facilitate efficient sourcing.
  8. Utilize best practices in procurement, including competitive bidding, supplier consolidation, and cost reduction initiatives.
  9. Stay informed on federal and state regulations related to procurement and ensure compliance.
  10. Prepare and present reports to senior management on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
  11. Train and mentor team members on procurement processes and procedures.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Represent Emory University at industry conferences and events to network and stay current on emerging technologies and products.
  14. Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and legal, to ensure all procurement activities are aligned with organizational goals and policies.
  15. Act as a strategic advisor to senior management on procurement-related matters.

Job Qualifications
