- Greet and welcome visitors to the laboratory, providing a positive and professional first impression.
- Assist with the set-up and preparation of laboratory equipment and materials for experiments and research projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Collect, label, and properly store research samples and specimens.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation of research data and findings.
- Collaborate with research team members to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
- Monitor and track inventory levels of laboratory supplies and equipment, notifying appropriate personnel of any shortages or issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, and troubleshoot and report any malfunctions or problems.
- Follow standard operating procedures and protocols for experiments and research studies.
- Adhere to ethical and regulatory guidelines for handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on laboratory techniques and technologies.
- Assist with the training and supervision of new laboratory assistants and students.
- Communicate effectively with team members and researchers to provide updates on project progress and address any issues or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all university policies and procedures.

Bachelor's Degree In A Scientific Field: A Laboratory Assistant Prn At Emory University Should Have A Strong Foundation In Scientific Principles And Techniques. A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Biochemistry Is Typically Required.
Experience In A Laboratory Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Laboratory, Either Through Internships, Research Projects, Or Previous Employment, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Experience Will Demonstrate A Candidate's Familiarity With Laboratory Procedures And Equipment.
