Your expertise and compassion will be essential in helping patients and families navigate complex genetic information and make informed decisions about their healthcare.To excel in this role, you must have a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program, be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, and have at least 3-5 years of experience as a genetic counselor.   1. Provide genetic counseling services to patients and families in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess and interpret genetic information, and assist in developing treatment plans for patients.
  3. Conduct thorough and accurate risk assessments and provide education to patients and families about genetic conditions and their implications.
  4. Stay up-to-date on advancements in genetics and genetic testing, and integrate new information into practice as needed.
  5. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and families.
  6. Participate in case conferences and consultations with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  7. Document all patient interactions and maintain accurate and organized records.
  8. Provide support and resources to patients and families as they navigate complex genetic information and make decisions about their healthcare.
  9. Advocate for patients and their families to ensure they have access to necessary resources and support.
  10. Serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced genetic counselors and participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  11. Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to genetic counseling.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of genetic counseling services provided.
  13. Represent the institution and the field of genetic counseling in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Genetic Counseling From An Accredited Program.

  • Board Certification By The American Board Of Genetic Counseling (Abgc).
