  1. Develop and implement strategies to enhance and expand the International Diabetes Education Program at Emory University.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, including budget management, resource allocation, and team coordination.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and establish partnerships, collaborations, and funding opportunities.
  4. Lead and mentor a team of educators, researchers, and support staff to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  5. Conduct needs assessments and research to inform program development and evaluation.
  6. Develop and deliver training and educational materials for healthcare professionals, patients, and community members.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in diabetes education and management.
  8. Represent the program at conferences, events, and meetings to promote awareness and build relationships.
  9. Engage with diverse populations and adapt program content to meet their specific needs and cultural backgrounds.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Public Health Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Public Health Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. A Doctorate Degree Is Preferred.

  • Experience In Diabetes Education: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working In Diabetes Education Or Related Field. This Includes Experience With Program Development, Implementation, And Evaluation.

  • Knowledge Of International Health: The Associate Director Should Have A Strong Understanding Of International Health Issues, Particularly Related To Diabetes. This Includes Knowledge Of Cultural, Social, And Economic Factors That Impact Diabetes Management And Prevention.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: The Successful Candidate Should Have Demonstrated Experience In Leading And Managing Teams, As Well As Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. Previous Experience In Grant Management And Budgeting Is Also Preferred.

  • Fluency In A Second Language: As The International Diabetes Education Program Works With Diverse Populations, Fluency In A Second Language, Particularly Spanish Or French, Is Highly Desirable. Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills In English Are Also Required.
