  1. Provide exceptional care and support for animal residents at Emory University's Main Station in Atlanta.
  2. Learn and develop essential skills in animal care under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  3. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for animals by following all protocols and procedures.
  4. Assist with daily tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and administering medication.
  5. Observe and report any changes in animal behavior or health to senior staff.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: This Position Requires A Minimum Education Level Of A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Core Subjects Such As Math, Science, And Communication.

  • Previous Animal Care Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working With Animals In A Professional Setting Such As A Veterinary Clinic, Animal Shelter, Or Research Facility. This Experience Will Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Animal Care Practices And Protocols.

  • Knowledge Of Animal Behavior And Physiology: A Strong Understanding Of Animal Behavior And Physiology Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Basic Knowledge Of Animal Anatomy, Common Behaviors, And How To Recognize Signs Of Distress Or Illness.

  • Ability To Lift And Handle Animals: This Position Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Lift And Handle Animals Of Various Sizes. Candidates Should Be Able To Comfortably Lift Up To 50 Pounds And Have Experience Handling Animals In A Safe And Humane Manner.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Well In A Team Is Crucial For This Role. Animal Care Trainees Will Need To Collaborate With Other Staff Members And Communicate With Researchers And Veterinary Staff. Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Follow Instructions Are Essential.
