- Provide daily care for animal residents including feeding, watering, and cleaning of enclosures.
- Monitor animal behavior and report any abnormalities or concerns to supervising staff.
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and environmental conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by supervising staff.
- Follow strict protocols and procedures for animal handling, husbandry, and sanitation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the health and safety of animals and staff.
- Assist with the transportation of animals to and from various locations within the facility.
- Observe and report any changes in animal appearance or behavior to supervising staff.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the proper care and welfare of all animals.
- Participate in training programs and continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills in animal care.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to animal welfare.
- Communicate effectively with team members, researchers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of animal equipment and facilities.
- Assist with the restraint and handling of animals for various procedures and treatments.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude towards animals, colleagues, and researchers.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Minimum Of 1 Year Experience Working With Animals In A Laboratory Or Veterinary Setting.
Knowledge Of Animal Husbandry And Care Procedures, Including Handling And Restraint Techniques.
Familiarity With Federal Regulations And Guidelines Related To Animal Research, Such As The Animal Welfare Act And The Guide For The Care And Use Of Laboratory Animals.
Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment.
