We are currently seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as a System Epidemiologist, Medical Director of Infection Prevention & Control (EHC). This role is essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients by leading and implementing infection control practices across our healthcare system.   1. Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures across the Emory Healthcare system.
  2. Serve as the primary medical resource for infection prevention and control for all healthcare facilities within the Emory Healthcare system.
  3. Lead and oversee infection control teams, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and standards.
  4. Develop and maintain a system-wide infection surveillance program to monitor and track healthcare-associated infections.
  5. Collaborate with various departments and committees to develop and implement strategies to prevent and control infections.
  6. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest research, trends, and developments in infection prevention and control to continuously improve processes and protocols.
  8. Educate and train healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and isolation protocols.
  9. Serve as the liaison between Emory Healthcare and local, state, and national health agencies regarding infection control matters.
  10. Analyze data and metrics related to infection control to identify trends and implement interventions to reduce infection rates.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare organizations and experts to share best practices and develop innovative approaches to infection prevention and control.
  12. Foster a culture of infection prevention and control throughout the Emory Healthcare system, promoting a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  13. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide support and guidance to other departments and facilities within the healthcare system.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committees to improve patient outcomes and safety.
  15. Maintain accurate and detailed records and reports related to infection control activities and outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution: A System Epidemiologist, Medical Director, Infection Prevention & Control (Ehc) At Emory Healthcare Must Have A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution To Demonstrate A Strong Foundation In Medical Knowledge And Understanding Of Disease Processes.

  • Certification In Epidemiology Or Infection Prevention: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Certification In Epidemiology Or Infection Prevention To Show Specialized Training And Knowledge In The Field. This Certification Can Also Demonstrate A Commitment To Ongoing Education And Staying Up-To-Date With The Latest Research And Best Practices.

  • Experience In Healthcare Epidemiology: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Healthcare Epidemiology, Preferably In A Leadership Or Management Role. This Experience Should Include Developing And Implementing Infection Prevention And Control Policies, Conducting Surveillance, And Managing Outbreaks.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A System Epidemiologist, Medical Director, Infection Prevention & Control (Ehc) At Emory Healthcare Must Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Effectively Analyze Data, Identify Trends, And Develop Evidence-Based Strategies To Prevent And Control The Spread Of Infections.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Abilities: This Role Requires Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Healthcare Providers, Administrators, And Other Stakeholders. Additionally, The Candidate Should Have Strong Leadership Abilities To Oversee And Guide The Infection Prevention And Control Team, As Well As Provide Education And Training To Staff On Best Practices.
