
Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse

- Provide expert surgical oncology care: The primary responsibility of the Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse is to provide specialized and comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical procedures for cancer treatment. This includes pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, as well as monitoring and managing patient responses to treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: The Surgical Oncology RN will work closely with surgeons, oncologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients. They will also communicate and coordinate with the team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Educate patients and families: The Surgical Oncology RN will educate patients and their families about the surgical procedure, post-operative care, and potential side effects. They will also provide resources and support for coping with a cancer diagnosis.

Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution: A Bsn Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For A Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse At Emory Healthcare. This Degree Ensures That The Nurse Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Clinical Practice.
Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Georgia: All Surgical Oncology Registered Nurses At Emory Healthcare Must Hold A Valid Rn License In The State Of Georgia. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Knowledgeable About State-Specific Laws And Regulations Related To Nursing Practice.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Surgical Oncology Nursing: Emory Healthcare Requires Its Surgical Oncology Registered Nurses To Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In The Field. This Ensures That The Nurse Has A Strong Understanding Of The Complexities Of Caring For Patients With Cancer And Is Able To Provide High-Quality Care.
Certification In Oncology Nursing (Ocn): Emory Healthcare Prefers Its Surgical Oncology Registered Nurses To Hold A Certification In Oncology Nursing (Ocn). This Certification Demonstrates The Nurse's Specialized Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Patients With Cancer.
