Job Description

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of patient care by properly sterilizing and processing medical equipment and instruments.   1. Sterilize and process medical equipment and instruments according to established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control and safety procedures.
  3. Inspect and test equipment for proper functioning and report any malfunctions or defects.
  4. Monitor and record sterilization logs to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient processing of equipment.
  6. Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and order replenishments as needed.
  7. Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for contaminated materials.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
  9. Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education opportunities.
  10. Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare staff.
  12. Adhere to all safety protocols and take appropriate measures in case of emergencies.
  13. Participate in regular departmental meetings and provide input for improvement of processes and procedures.
  14. Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Certification From The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm) Or The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Sterile Processing Technician In A Healthcare Setting.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Sterile Processing Techniques, Infection Control Practices, And Medical Device Regulations.

  • Familiarity With Operating And Maintaining Sterilization Equipment, Such As Steam Autoclaves, Ultrasonic Cleaners, And Ethylene Oxide Sterilizers.

  • Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment.
