  1. Provide pre-operative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  2. Assess patient's physical and emotional needs before surgery and develop a personalized care plan.
  3. Coordinate with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless and efficient care for patients.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the medical team.
  6. Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  8. Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for procedures.
  9. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
  10. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide individualized and comprehensive care.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to promote a positive and supportive environment.
  12. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest developments in pre-operative care.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Position At Emory Healthcare. This Degree Provides A Comprehensive Education In Nursing Theory, Research, And Practice, And Prepares Individuals To Provide High-Quality Patient Care.

  • Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Georgia: All Applicants For A Registered Nurse - Pre Op Position At Emory Healthcare Must Hold An Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Georgia. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met All State Requirements For Education And Competency In Nursing.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Preoperative Setting: Emory Healthcare Seeks Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Preoperative Setting. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Preparing Patients For Surgery, Assessing Their Health Status, And Providing Education And Support To Patients And Their Families During The Preoperative Process.

  • Bls And Acls Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For All Registered Nurses At Emory Healthcare. These Certifications Ensure That The Candidate Is Trained In Life-Saving Techniques And Is Able To Respond To Emergency Situations That May Arise In The Preoperative Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: As A Registered Nurse - Pre Op, Effective Communication And Critical Thinking Skills Are Essential For Providing Safe And High-Quality Patient Care.
