- Perform gross dissection and examination of tissue specimens with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by slicing, staining, and labeling.
- Assist with autopsies and provide support to the pathologist during procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation of specimens and results in accordance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field of pathology and implement new techniques and procedures as needed.
- Train and supervise new staff members and provide ongoing education and support to current team members.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding procedures, results, and recommendations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with maintaining accreditation standards.

Bachelor's Degree In An Appropriate Science Field, Such As Biology Or Chemistry.
Certification As A Pathologists' Assistant Through The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Or Pathology Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Laboratory Procedures.
Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Independently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
