  1. Develop and implement educational programs and initiatives that promote continuous learning and professional development for nursing staff.
  2. Collaborate with nursing leaders and staff to identify learning needs and create customized development plans.
  3. Conduct training sessions and workshops on a variety of nursing topics, such as clinical skills, evidence-based practice, and leadership.
  4. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, such as lectures, simulations, and online modules, to engage and educate nursing staff.
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback from participants.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current healthcare trends and advancements in nursing practice to ensure training materials are relevant and comprehensive.
  7. Serve as a mentor and coach to nursing staff, providing guidance and support for their professional growth and advancement.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop interdisciplinary training programs and promote a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  9. Participate in the development and review of nursing policies and procedures to ensure they align with current best practices and standards.
  10. Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding process for new nursing staff, providing training and support to help them acclimate to the organization.
  11. Represent Emory Healthcare at conferences and professional events to promote our commitment to nursing education and development.
  12. Maintain accurate records of training and development activities and provide reports to leadership as needed.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation in nursing education and development within the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Nursing License: A Nursing Professional Development Specialist At Emory Healthcare Must Possess A Current And Valid Nursing License In The State Of Georgia. This Ensures That The Individual Is Qualified To Provide Education And Training To Nurses Within The Organization.

  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Role, With Many Employers Prefering A Master's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Nursing Knowledge And Skills Necessary For The Role.

  • Certification In Nursing Professional Development: Emory Healthcare May Require Candidates To Possess A Certification In Nursing Professional Development, Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Certified Nurse Educator (Cne) Or The National Association For Healthcare Quality (Nahq) Certified Professional In Healthcare Quality (Cphq).

  • Previous Education And Training Experience: Candidates For This Role Should Have Previous Experience In Education And Training, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Could Include Experience As A Nurse Educator, Preceptor, Or Mentor.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Nursing Professional Development Specialist Will Be Responsible For Interacting With A Variety Of Individuals, Including Nurses, Healthcare Providers, And Other Staff Members. It Is Important For This Individual To Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Deliver Education And Training Programs.
