Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field: A Medical Technologist At Emory Healthcare Must Have A Four-Year Degree In Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Laboratory Testing And Analysis.

  • Certification By A Recognized Accrediting Agency: Emory Healthcare Requires Its Medical Technologists To Have Certification From A Recognized Accrediting Agency Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt). This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met Rigorous Standards And Is Competent To Perform Blood Bank Testing.

  • Experience In Blood Bank Testing And Procedures: Candidates For This Position Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Blood Bank Laboratory. This Experience Should Include Performing Blood Typing, Crossmatching, Antibody Identification, And Other Specialized Tests Related To Blood Banking.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: Medical Technologists At Emory Healthcare Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Regulatory Requirements Governing Blood Bank Testing. This Includes Knowledge Of Clia, Fda, And Aabb Regulations, As Well As Familiarity With Quality Assurance And Quality Control Practices.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Healthcare Environment Requires Effective Communication And Collaboration With Other Team Members. Medical Technologists At Emory Healthcare Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As The Ability To Work Well In A Team Setting.
