- Perform laboratory procedures and tests accurately and efficiently to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Collect and prepare patient samples for testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, following established protocols and safety measures.
- Maintain inventory and stock of necessary supplies for laboratory operations.
- Ensure quality control and accuracy of results by following standard operating procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with medical technologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers regarding test results, procedures, and any necessary follow-up.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to meet regulatory standards and promote safety.
- Adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies when handling patient information and samples.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on new laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, scheduling, and billing as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent patient care and promoting a positive and professional image of Emory Healthcare.
A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, With A Preference For Candidates Who Have Completed An Accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant Program.
Previous Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.
Familiarity With Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Specimen Collection And Processing, Quality Control, And Data Entry.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Follow Protocols And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work As Part Of A Team And Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Laboratory Staff.
