Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our Orthopedic team at Emory Healthcare. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to our team of physicians.The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in an Orthopedic setting, and a Medical Assistant Certification. Additionally, the successful candidate must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical coding is preferred. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical and administrative support to the team of physicians.
  2. Assist with patient intake, including taking vital signs, patient history, and other office procedures as needed.
  3. Assist with medical procedures, including laboratory tests, imaging, and injections.
  4. Prepare charts for patient appointments and follow-up visits.
  5. Schedule appointments and verify insurance coverage.
  6. Maintain accurate and organized patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  7. Respond to patient inquiries and provide accurate information.
  8. Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after medical procedures.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  10. Follow established protocols for medical emergencies.
  11. Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
  12. Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive patient relations.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
