We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to join our team.As the Lead CDI Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and complete clinical documentation that reflects the complexity of patient care and supports appropriate reimbursement. You will lead a team of CDI specialists and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve documentation deficiencies.To excel in this role, you must have a deep understanding of clinical documentation processes, coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements.   1. Lead a team of CDI specialists and provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality and efficient performance.
  2. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve documentation deficiencies.
  3. Review and analyze medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  4. Develop and implement CDI policies, procedures, and best practices to promote accurate and thorough clinical documentation.
  5. Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback and education to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical documentation processes and coding guidelines, staying up-to-date with industry trends and changes.
  7. Monitor and report on CDI program metrics, including productivity, accuracy, and impact on reimbursement.
  8. Collaborate with coding and billing teams to ensure appropriate reimbursement for services rendered.
  9. Develop and deliver educational programs and materials to promote understanding and compliance with CDI processes and requirements.
  10. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and address documentation-related issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions and communications.
  12. Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance knowledge and stay current with best practices in CDI.
  13. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive innovation in clinical documentation processes to support the organization's mission of advancing healthcare.
  14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CDI manager or healthcare leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Or Related Field.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement (Cdi) In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Icd-10 Coding Guidelines And Regulations.

  • Supervisory Or Leadership Experience In A Cdi Department, Including Managing A Team Of Cdi Specialists.
