  1. Oversee the blood transfusion services in the laboratory, ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to blood transfusion services in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  3. Manage and maintain inventory of blood products, ensuring adequate supply for patient needs.
  4. Monitor and maintain proper storage and handling of blood products to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  5. Train and supervise laboratory staff on proper blood transfusion techniques and protocols.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper and timely transfusion of blood products to patients.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and best practices in transfusion medicine and implement changes as needed.
  8. Review and analyze laboratory data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  9. Maintain accurate and thorough records of all blood transfusions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  10. Communicate and collaborate with other departments within the healthcare system to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  11. Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives related to transfusion services.
  12. Act as a resource for laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and patients regarding blood transfusions and related procedures.
  13. Serve as a liaison between the laboratory and external agencies, such as blood banks and regulatory bodies.
  14. Monitor budget and expenses related to blood transfusion services, making recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  15. Provide support and guidance to laboratory staff in resolving any issues or concerns related to blood transfusion services.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With At Least 3 Years In Transfusion Services.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls), Medical Technologist (Mt), Or Equivalent.

  • Solid Understanding Of Blood Banking Principles, Regulations, And Standards, Including Aabb, Fda, And Cap Guidelines.

  • Previous Experience In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role, With Proven Ability To Manage Staff, Implement Process Improvements, And Maintain Quality Control.
