Respond to emergency calls promptly and efficiently, providing immediate medical care to patients in need.
Assess patient's condition and provide appropriate treatment according to established protocols and guidelines.
Administer medications and perform medical procedures as needed to stabilize patients.
Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and their families to ensure proper understanding of treatment plans and procedures.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including vital signs, medications administered, and treatments performed.
Operate emergency medical equipment and vehicles in a safe and effective manner.
Continuously assess and reassess patient's condition and provide necessary interventions to ensure the best possible outcome.
Stay up-to-date on current medical practices and procedures, attending regular training and education sessions.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and emergency response teams to provide seamless and coordinated care to patients.
Maintain professionalism and compassion in high-stress and emotionally charged situations.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety of patients, team members, and the general public.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, promoting a positive image of Emory Healthcare.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with data collection and analysis.
Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Represent Emory Healthcare and the EMT profession with integrity and professionalism.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically The Minimum Education Requirement For An Emt Position At Emory Healthcare. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education That Is Necessary For Performing The Duties Of An Emt.
State Certification: All Emts At Emory Healthcare Must Hold A Valid Certification From The Georgia Department Of Public Health Office Of Ems And Trauma. This Certification Ensures That The Emt Has Completed The Required Training And Has Met The Necessary Competency Standards.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Emory Healthcare Requires All Emts To Hold A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association. This Certification Is Essential For Providing Basic Life-Saving Interventions In Emergency Situations.
Driver’s License And Clean Driving Record: Emts At Emory Healthcare Are Required To Operate Emergency Vehicles, So A Valid Driver’s License And A Clean Driving Record Are Necessary Qualifications For This Role. A Clean Driving Record Indicates Responsible And Safe Driving Habits.
Prior Experience: While Not Always Required, Prior Experience As An Emt Is Highly Valued At Emory Healthcare. Candidates With Previous Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Are Preferred, As They Are Already Familiar With The Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment Of Emergency Care.
