- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing department, ensuring all tasks and procedures are performed in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the sterilization and processing of medical equipment and supplies.
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of sterile processing technicians, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are available for use.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of medical equipment and supplies, and to address any issues or concerns.
- Regularly review and evaluate department processes and procedures, making recommendations for improvements and updates as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols, and take necessary action to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and identifying areas for cost savings.
- Stay current on industry trends and developments, and implement best practices in sterile processing to maintain the highest level of quality and safety.
- Act as a liaison between the Sterile Processing department and other departments within the healthcare system, providing updates and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Represent the Sterile Processing department in meetings and committees, providing expertise and guidance on matters related to sterile processing.
- Respond to and resolve any issues or complaints related to the department, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among all staff members.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt)
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Sterile Processing, With At Least 3 Years In A Leadership Role
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements And Accreditation Standards Related To Sterile Processing
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Manage A Diverse Team Of Staff Members.
